This space was born from the legacy of two extraordinary women — my mom and mamaw — whose kindness shaped my soul and inspired every word here. Their stories are the heartbeat of Shine Together Anyway.

They taught me that compassion isn’t weakness. That softness can survive the hardest things. That even when life gets gritty… we shine together anyway.

This blog is a tribute to their light — and to the quiet strength carried by so many of us navigating grief, chronic illness, motherhood, and healing.

That said, I want to gently acknowledge something important: I’ve been shaped by more than just these two women. My dad, my brothers, my aunts, and too many family and friends to count have poured love, strength, and support into my life. Their presence matters deeply, and I carry their influence with gratitude.

This space simply began as a tribute to the women whose compassion lit the path I’m now walking. It doesn’t mean others haven’t shaped me too — only that this is the story I needed to start with.

I hope this space continues to grow in ways that honor all the love I’ve been given — from every direction.
